Rutronik at Embedded World 2010: Delivering tomorrow's technology today

Under the motto "Delivering tomorrow's technology today", Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH (Hall 9, Stand 9-435) makes its appearance at the Embedded World Exhibition as a supplier of innovative components and complete solutions. Advanced application examples from the medical, lighting, automotive, wireless and automation sectors as well as inverted rectifiers, metering solutions, industrial PCs and TFTs show Rutronik's comprehensive product portfolio and technical competence.

The overall focus is on the subject energy efficiency and renewable energies. With components and applications for smart metering, environmentally sound lighting concepts with LED technology as well as electric and hybrid drives, Rutronik has established itself already as a provider of modern solutions. In doing so, the broadliner relies on an extremely wide-ranging product portfolio of high-quality components and its profound technical expertise. The alternative energies sector is covered by the subsidiary Rusol, specialist for photovoltaic solutions. Here, Rutronik supplies the necessary components, especially inverted rectifiers required in PV systems. This is completed by comprehensive value-added services, such as design-in support and technical advice by product and application specialists, which are available to customers in all countries throughout Europe.

Product highlights

STMicroelectronics has developed a new system for grid-connected PV applications to achieve improvements in design, technology and manufacturing of PV Inverter, as well as cost reduction and high efficiency. On Rutronik’s Booth, you will be able to see the 3 kW PV system which consists of a high frequency isolated input power section performing DC/DC conversion and an inverter section capable of delivering sinusoidal current at 50Hz to the Grid. The system operates with input voltages in the range of 200 V to 400 V and is tied to the grid at 230Vrms, 50Hz, through an LCL filter. Other peculiar characteristics of the proposed converter are integration level, decoupled control of active and reactive power. Further, a fully digital control, including power management for grid-connected operation and MPPT (maximum power point tracking) algorithm, has been implemented on a STM32 Microcontroller.

The Swissbit F-100 series CFast™ flash storage card focuses on entirely new areas of application in the embedded and industrial field. It combines the compact flash card form factor (36.4 (L) x 42.80 (W) x 3.6 (H) mm) with the advantages of a fast serial ATA interface. Thus, the CFast card offers robust and proven dimensions, including high-speed data transfer of the latest generation. The use of the SATA-II interface increases the band width on the host side to 3Gbit/s and eliminates a considerable performance bottleneck.
