Rutronik: New high-availability computer centre

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH put into operation a new computer centre at their headquarters. The IT system provides the best achievable levels of availability, thus ensuring
permanent delivery capability. Rutronik now has at their disposal a complete dual installation of all the important IT systems in two physically separated computer centres. Even access to the outside world, including the numerous global subsidiaries, is now fail safe due to separate routing and redundant hardware. At the same time, it is also a step in the direction of climate protection: Thanks to modern technologies in the fields of air conditioning and power supply,
Rutronik is reducing energy consumption considerably.

"Permanently available information and communication systems are absolutely essential for our company," says Markus Ziegler, Head of the IT department at Rutronik. "With the newly created infrastructure we are in a position to permanently supply our customers as well as our staff with the necessary tools and data."

Marco Nabinger, Managing Director IT and Organisation at Rutronik, adds: "We invested a lot in this project. Increased availability and improved energy efficiency will pay off these costs within a minimum amount of time. We do, and will continue to, operate our IT systems at our headquarters in Germany. This enables us to respond flexibly, quickly and competently to the requirements of our customers."
